What is Raccateer?

Raccateer is a cozy raccoon capitalism simulator where you employ and upgrade dozens of raccoon workers to automate a trash‑based supply chain — from trash to tech and back again.

For Content Creators

Raccateer includes features tailored for streaming. The first is Streamer Mode, which connects your game to your Twitch chat so viewers can appear in‑game and have their messages voiced by their raccoon.

Enable Streamer Mode

  1. On the main menu, select the Twitch button in the lower‑right and complete the Twitch auth flow for the Raccateer app.
  2. If your status reads "Twitch Connected", you’re authenticated.
  3. Beginning a new game is recommended (but not required).
  4. Spawn your first raccoon. If you have active chatters, that raccoon will be named after a chatter, and any messages they send in chat will be read out by their raccoon.

Managing Your Chatters

  • Open: Click on the raccoon’s name to open the chatter menu.
  • Current viewer: Shown at the top (blocked viewers display a blocked icon).
  • Search: Filter chatters/lurkers; see last chat or last active timestamps.
  • Assign: Click a viewer to assign; auto‑locks and unblocks if needed.
  • Lock: Protect this raccoon–viewer pair from bulk reassignment.
  • Unlock: Allow bulk reassignment to change this raccoon’s viewer.
  • Block: Remove from all raccoons and prevent future assignment; unblock by manual assign.

Chat Commands (Quick Reference)

Chatters can change their raccoon’s appearance by sending messages with specific keywords.

  • Colors: "make me red", "change my color to green", "i wanna be blue", "use gold color", "reset color"
  • Hats: "give me a top hat", "equip wizard hat", "i want a viking hat", "can i be a pirate"
  • Remove hat: "no hat", "take off my hat", "hat off"

Common synonyms are supported (e.g., yellow = gold; pirate/swashbuckler/corsair/buccaneer; wizard/mage/sorcerer; hard hat/safety hat).

Bulk Reassignment

Pause menu (ESC) → Streamer Mode.

Buttons

  1. Reassign without Duplicates: Assign each available chatter to one raccoon; respects existing locks.
  2. Reassign with Duplicates: Assign a chatter to every raccoon; create duplicates if there are more raccoons than chatters; respects locks.

Custom Names

Want control over raccoon names? Upload a CSV with a list of names. These will be used instead of the default raccoon names — great for shouting out viewers or running themed content. The CSV should contain a column named names; up to 10,000 entries are supported.

Cheats & Creator Collabs

The game ships with a number of cheats that unlock new raccoon skins and custom interactions. If you’re a content creator with a community interested in playing the game, I’d love to collaborate on a custom raccoon skin & themed interaction based on your community.
